About Matt Schauf

Mr. Schauf is the publisher and lead writer for FantasySportsBusiness.com, as well as an associate editor and senior fantasy football writer for SportsBuff.com - part of World Sports Technology.

Schauf entered the industry back in 2002, when the sports editor at The Daily Star in the metropolis of Oneonta, N.Y., made an offer the copy editor couldn’t refuse: “Hey, you wanna write a fantasy football column.”

From there, Schauf signed on with Pro Fantasy Sports — which was purchased by World Sports in January 2008 — and spent about a year and a half as a page designer and copy editor at The Democrat & Chronicle in Rochester, N.Y. He draws from a journalistic background that includes experience as a reporter, columnist, headline writer, editorial writer, editor and designer. He even helped his mom deliver papers for a time as a child.

Schauf, a journalism grad from Ithaca College, has also written a weekly column for Sporting News, is a member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association and is constantly networking within the fantasy sports community.
